Product description

A rotary lobe pump is usually used in similar sludge pumping applications as progressive cavity pumps where there is limited footprint available. Lobe pumps are excellent pumps where low shear pumping of almost any medium is desired.

Our Tornado lobe pump can pump capacities up to 1000m3hr and pressures up to 10bar. Pumps have a self suction ability and can run dry for short periods of time. Tornado lobe pumps are available in versions with alluminium housing and rubber wear linings and lobes in stainless steels where there is now metal to metal contact due to protective rubber pads on metal lobes or full metal version in different stainless steel qualities.

Tornado pumps have a very compact design. Tornado T1 pump is a traditional design of lobe pump with gearbox that is usually in-line coupled to a motor by shaft coupling. Tornado T2 pumps is an innovative design avoiding gearbox due to timing gear rubber belt and motor assembly on top of the pump. Tornado T2 is designed for easy and fast maintenance.

Cartridge mechanical seals in T2 rotary lobe pumps are integrated in the lobes, adjusting tool for correct lobe position during installation is simply found integrated on the pump housing and adjustment of timing gear is very maintenance friendly operation.

Number of parts in Tornado rotary lobe pump is much lower than number of parts of most competitors pumps and also the maintenance is considerably simpler. Tornado T2 pump has a full service in place feature (FSIP), which means that pump can be opened and completely refurbished without disconnecting of the pump from piping. Pump housing in aluminium is light and easy to handle as well as rubber wear liners, which are basically the only wear part in the pump. Lobes have a long lifetime since there is no metal to metal contact due to rubber pads and because lobes are in metal which has higher hardness than rubber lined housing.

Metal rotor and rubber stator is a well proven design used on progressive cavity pumps and NETZSCH successfully applies same philosophy on rotary lobe pumps.
