Product description

Chesterton® 1622 Low E pump packing is designed to minimize and meet today's low emission requirements. This is a pump packing that not only meets, but exceeds today's low emission requirements for refinery, petrochemical and chemical industry.

1622 packing has received both the 2010 National Pollution Prevention Roundtable MVP2 and the 2011 Vaaler Award for Emissions and Pollution reduction technology.

The advanced construction of the Chesterton 1622 packing provides superior emissions and leak control under harsh process conditions. This design results in a non-curing, flexible seal which will not shrink or absorb moisture. The strands that make up the packing slide easily over one another in response to gland pressure, creating a secure and reliable seal.

The benefits of upgrading to Chesterton 1622 Low E are many. You will get extremely low emissions compared to other gaskets on the market. The packing is suitable for a wide range of valves and will therefore allow you to lower inventory as this pump packing can be used on many applications.

The packing reduces the possibility of installation errors as you only have to deal with this one gasket and not several different types for the same application. In API 622 testing, 1622 packing had an average emission rate of <2 ppm and a maximum one-time release of 18 ppm.

These extremely low rates were achieved without gland adjustments.

Now you can easily meet the emission regulations for pump packing using the Chesterton 1622 gasket.
