PTFE graphite packing

This PTFE/graphite yarn packing consist of a PTFE yarn that is lubricated with small particles of graphite, it is also added a special type of silicone oil that lubricates it even more. This chemical resistant yarn packing got an even lover coefficient of friction than 100% PTFE packing.

This PTFE/graphite packing transfers the heat generated form the pump shaft rotation, to the walls in the stuffing box very efficient. It can handle temperatures up to 260 °C (500°F) in rods and shafts in steam, bleach, acids, hot water, alkalies and solvents. That makes this yarn packing very chemical resistant.

This cost-efficient packing can also be used with black liquor and all other chemical applications for pumps, except these: fuming nitric acid, fluorine, oleum, aqua regia and some other strong oxidizing chemicals.

Yet this PTFE/graphite packing got 13% less thermal expansion than normal 100% PTFE packing, this equals less friction and lower heat when the shaft is at a higher speed. This cost-efficient packing will make any damage to the pump shafts that harder, more abrasive and harsher packings would.
